Community Disability Support Workers (CDSW)
The CDSW fulfils their duties in a variety of services and locations. A CDSW could support people in a shared residential home, the community, at work, or at play. With creativity, compassion and the client's wishes at heart, a CDSW plays a primary role in promoting independence and well-being.

Community Disability Support Practitioners (CDSP)
The (CDSP) provides supervision, care, and skill development opportunities to persons with disabilities to pursue and fulfill the goals, objectives, and aspirations of those individuals. The role of the CDSP is directed towards more complex or specialized clients situations or environments. The CDSP covers a broader range of service and support options and participate in assessments, person-centered planning and plan implementation.

Family Services Aides
Family services aides work with children who have special needs either in their family home or in the community. Work usually takes place outside of school hours and can include recreational activities, or developmental or behavioral supports. Family service aides provide support to families and children.

Formal training or experience in Disability Studies, Social Work, Psychology, Early Childhood Development, or Human Services will provide a solid foundation for your career at the Action Group.

  • Proof of insurance with a minimum of $1,000,000 liability coverage
  • An intervention record check (to work with children)

Employee Health & Safety Program
The Health & Safety Committee has representatives from Management, Human Resources, Family Services, Front Line Staff, and Residential Supervisors. The Health and Safety Committee meets quarterly to discuss concerns, goals and initiatives brought forward by the Health and Safety Representatives. Injuries and incidents, and control measures are reviewed to minimize injuries and their severity. The Wellness Committee meets monthly to discuss various initiatives designed to create a positive work environment for all Action Group employees. By “Working Together to Nurture the Body, Mind and Spirit”, the Action Group strives to make each employee feel appreciated.
